NDP calls for more busses and streetcars, less crowding

Party releases video showing shocking overcrowding for essential workers

TORONTO — Ontario’s NDP has released a video showing just how overcrowded transit is in the GTA and launched a petition in a push to get Doug Ford to fund municipalities to put more buses, streetcars and trains on routes, and cap capacity on all vehicles.

It’s a scenario that is playing out across the GTA – essential workers have to cram into busses and train cars to get to work. It’s not safe, and it’s a recipe for spreading COVID-19.

Instead of tackling this overcrowding, the Ford government just made things worse by cutting GO and Union Pearson Express transit service.
