Sandy Shaw chosen to be the NDP candidate in Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas

HAMILTON — New Democrats in Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas have nominated incumbent MPP Sandy Shaw as their NDP candidate for the 2022 provincial election. First elected in 2018, Shaw has previously served on the board of the Hamilton Port Authority and worked with a number of local organizations including FirstOntario Credit Union, the Social Planning Council and the United Way. Shaw currently serves as Official Opposition critic for Environment, Conservation and Parks.

  • Shaw is fighting for legislation to better protect water in response to the Cootes Paradise spill
  • Working with local hospices and McMaster doctors, Shaw put forward the Nancy Rose Act calling for a provincial-wide strategy on pediatric palliative care
  • Shaw stood up for seniors, advocating for an overhaul of the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority, fighting for Rosslyn Retirement Residence residents and others
